Okay, major apologies for not updating sooner than this. It has been a busy week and I have not had the time at my computer to updates, except to add some pictures. Today is the opposite, I have a wee bit of time to write but no time pictures to upload.

So this week has been good for us as a family. we took Eva to the Doc for her 9 week check up and we found out that she is now 15lbs and 9ozs and is 25 1/4 inches tall. The Doctor was very happy with her and said she was in perfect health and doing extremely well so far. She is such an angel of a child as well. Eva sleeps 10-12hrs every night and has to be woken up - I reckon she has inherited her Mum and Dad's ability to sleep. Not only is she a sleeping machine but she rarely gets upset with things. The only time she is stressed is when she is in the car - she does not like it for some reason and definitely lets us know. Other than this though she seems so content and at peace. It is cool.

The other highlight of our week was the arrival of our BFF stevie Patterson who is here with us for three weeks on a well earned holiday. It has been great just to hang out and play Championship Manager. It has been even greater to get to talk and listen to where he is at right now and to see what God is doing in him and through his ministry. It is also good for me to be able to share some things with him that are on my heart. hwever, the greatest joy I have had it to introduce Eva to him and let them meet. Stevie is great with her and makes her giggle a lot - just as he does with everyone around him.

Youth was great last night. We had 23 kids turn up to our house for our senior high youth and I must say that for me it was one of the most amazing nights I have had with them. I think I have already stated how our youth group has had an amazing summer and how the mission trips have totally impacted them all as individuals. We have kids that are experienceing their relationship with God personally for the first time - they are hearing his voice and hearing his call on their lives and they are being salt and light in their schools to their friends. Last night I asked them again to consider how their relationship with God is going and at what level they find themselves at the minute. Then I read to them the story of the Rich Young Ruler from Luke's Gospel. In this story a man ask jesus what he must do to gain eternal life. Jesus tells him to keep the commands (he mentions about 6 of the commandments). The guy in return says that he has kept all of these since he was a boy. Jesus then says that there is one more thing he has to do then - sell all his stuff and give the money to the poor. At this the young man walked away saddened as he was very wealthy. He was prepared to live the righteous life, but when it came to giving up his wealth, he was not cool with that. Stevie asked me when i was talking with him, what would have happened if the young man had have given his wealth away? His question was more about what Jesus was trying to teach the young man. See what Jesus was trying to illustrate was that even though the young man was living a righteous life of doing the right thing and being in the right places, there was still one more thing that was not being surrendered to God. The secret to eternal life according to Jesus in this story, is the total surrender of our hearts and wills to God - the giving up of the things we hold on to. Youth group was so cool last night because it seemed like our youth were getting that. My prayer is that God will continue to hold them close and raise them up to be the leaders and world changers he has called and given them the potential to be.

Eva's Auntie Jen has been making some comments on this blog and has made rerference to the fact that we never let anyone know how much Eva loves her. So you are seeing it here and now that Eva love's her Auntie Jen and really struggles in the times betweenher visits. He he he!!!! We all love you Jen and Ron - Eva has great people around her.
